Lying only 22 miles north of central London, St Albans is brimming with history and culture.

Amgen asked Live The City to stage a Treasure Hunt for them in the historic city of St. Albans which lies equidistant between two of their offices.

Verulamium as it was called back in Roman times was one of the most important cities in Britain and is therefore brimming with history to discover.

Our Competitive Sightseeing event started with a Pimms reception and briefing in our very chic venue on Fishpool Street. After a quick pep talk it was time for a delicious buffet lunch to boost energy levels and prepare the little grey cells.

Then against the backdrop of yet another classic British summer's day of grey clouds and drizzle, teams set out to solve the cryptic clues. This took them on a journey through time seeing Roman remains, scouring the magnificent Cathedral and exploring the shops around the Market Place

To complete the photo challenges some ingenuity/ milliner skills were required as can be seen from the photos. When it came to the Showdown finale it was the Green team in the lead all the way until the very last question where the Orange team draw level and pipped them to the post by being faster to answer.

All in all this was a great event for everyone to enjoy themselves away from the office whilst working together in teams.
